Can you believe this is day 238 of making a comic every single day? There are now 238 little drawings lying around my apartment, which feels kind of absurd. And, besides the cats, they might actually be my most precious belongings right now.
Anyway! I’m really happy with this week’s batch. Monday’s is a bit of a dud, but I genuinely like all the others, which feels like a pretty good success rate. So hopefully there’s something in here you’ll enjoy too. Have fun!
Monday

I've never played any Assassin's Creed game, for whatever reason. One thing I don't like about the franchise is that every game seems so stuffed full of things to do that playing it can start to feel like a chore. But right now, it feels like a great way to relax a little. I'm not stressing about all the quests I'm presented with. Instead, I just sit down, play for an hour here or there, and try not to think about the fact that it'll take me 80 hours to finish this game. (I'll just stop playing when I'm not having fun anymore. Life's too short to keep doing something just because you paid money for it.)
Tuesday

Anna turned 32, and baking a mediocre cake, or, in this case, brownies, is a service I provide with pleasure. One needs something to stick the candles into!
Wednesday

It’s very important to Anna to be awake when her birthday begins. I’m the other way around. I’d rather sleep into my birthday and wake up to it in the morning. Being well on her way to her mid-30s, she of course fell asleep 20 minutes before midnight, which at least gave me the chance to sketch her sleeping. You can find that sketch in the premium section of this post:

Speaking of blasts from the past, the last time we went to the Tipsy Baker was when we ditched this piano concert. Look how different the comics looked back in February!
Thursday

Cecilia has mentioned several times that she likes showing up in these comics as the person on the other side of a FaceTime call. Unfortunately, we decided against video this time because we both needed to get our steps in and went for a walk while talking on the phone instead. Which was great. Catching up and shooting the shit for three hours is always nice, but it’s a bit easier for me when I can walk around and keep my hands busy by drawing strangers while doing so.
Friday

I’m not sure what’s going on in this house, but sometimes it feels like some kind of social experiment where normal people have been thrown in with people who don’t care about anyone else, just to see what happens.
Saturday

Perhaps it was the tiredness from the day before, but I somehow lost track of time and thought it was Sunday already. I hurried to get the newsletter finished and published before meeting Anna, only to then find out that it was, in fact, Saturday. Oh well.
Sunday

Sunday is long-run day. I love a good yap and run. Later that day, we were invited to Basti’s birthday party in the park. I didn’t know anyone except Anna and still had a fantastic time. Basti and all of his friends were great, and I really enjoyed what might have been the last picnic of the summer.
This week, just like all the ones before it, ended on a Sunday. What a coincidence. Imagine scientists suddenly discovered a new day that occasionally ends the week instead. The confusion! The chaos!
But that didn’t happen this week, which means we’ve reached the end of today’s weekly retrospective.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great week!
